A happy day
The day the film crew and I met Derek and Valerie at the top of the Struggle, is still a very vivid memory. It was such a joy to meet the happy couple celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary, which was the same day as Donald Campbell first broke the water speed record on Ullswater in 1955. A member of the film crew took this wonderful photograph of the happy couple alongside AC Bluebird. They had just been to the Lakeland Motor Museum in Backbarrow to see the Campbell collection, when they stopped and had a chance to see AC Bluebird close up, being filmed with of Kirkstone Pass in the background, where Derek and Valerie would go hiking all those years ago. Make life happy!
