AC Bluebird article in Classic Cars magazine March 2020
Classic Cars article

I got a call last October from Jim Stokes Workshop in Waterlooville asking me if I would mind if the restoration of my AC Aceca ‘Bluebird’ could be a feature article in the Classic Cars magazine.

Would I mind? What a silly question! I was more than happy for the AC to be photographed and for the real craftsmen who did all the intrinsic work to be the focus of the article.

The journalist, Sam Dawson, and his photographer turned up at JSW a couple of weeks later and I went along to watch the interview. My friend Duncan Brown, who was my navigator on last year’s Mille Miglia also joined me. I stood back while Paul Smith, Tim Paterson and other specialists explained what was done to the car. How it was completely stripped down to the bare metal and then rebuilt. However, I was soon sucked into the conversation and I talked about how and why I bought the car, and the journey it has taken me on. It makes for a good read, buy the magazine.

The article by Sam is an accurate and informative account of our discussion, and I promise that one day my wonderful wife Debbie will get her E-Type Jaguar that we originally went to buy.
