Reflecting on the recent Classic Car Show in Essen I’m still excited and amazed at how well the little AC Bluebird was received in Germany. It was an enormous exhibition of all types of vehicles on display, including some very expensive Mercedes and even more expensive Bugattis.
I almost bought a Lamborghini tractor, but it was already sold!
But I’m still tempted by the little two seater Siata. A one-off racing car designed and built in the 1930s to win the land speed record for a 500cc engine. This little car has a wonderful history that is well recorded in books and photographs. Still very tempted, for the right price!
During the Show the JSW team were brilliant at looking after the AC and keeping me supplied with coffee and biscuits.
The car is now back in the workshop being prepared for the Mille Miglia. The countdown begins.
