K7 - Bluebird The Afterlife
True Commitment

The restoration of my AC Bluebird by the excellent team at Jim Stokes Workshop was meticulous, thorough and took almost three years to complete. For me, the three year wait was frustrating as adventures like the Mille Miglia, Sprint Racing at Goodwood and a return to Coniston were put on hold until I got the car back in complete running order.

However, my frustration was nothing compared to the many detailed hours of restoration work undertaken by Bill Smith and his team working on the Bluebird K7 Project. It is worth remembering what Bill and his brilliant team of specialists have achieved with K7.

My car has simply been sprayed with some of the original K7 paint and has been restored to how Donald Campbell had it set up. Bill’s project involved taking a wreck and putting it back together so it wouldn’t sink and had the power to fly again. The great story of Bill’s restoration work has been captured by Sky News and is worth watching.
