This is it, I am on my way to Ullswater, by train! AC Bluebird is already in the Lake District, on display at the Lakeland Motor Museum.
Today I’m at Jim Stokes Workshops, in Waterlooville where AC Bluebird is being prepared for the London Concours during the first week of June.
As part of our planned trip to Ullswater with AC Bluebird in July this year I have been going through an old photo album from 1955 that commemorates Donald Campbell’s achievement.
A young, professional reporter from the Lake District, Matthew Holmes, has picked up on my story to take AC Bluebird to Ullswater in July, for a reunion with K7.
The covers is off, the tyres are checked, the Bristol 100B engine starts on the first turn, and AC Bluebird is out of winter hibernation!
Fraser from Dynamix Detailing and Valeting in Waterlooville came to the rescue with his van full of specialist equipment to work on AC Bluebird.
The redoubtable and lovely Liz Williams popped in over the weekend with flowers and red wine.
